Ahem... Sorry it's taken me so long to post a new journal, but extenuating circumstances have prevented this. Our Internet connection crapped out again, and I'm only getting to do this now because we're at Amy's mom's house to do laundry. So until we get a new stable connection, there'll be not much more from me.
Now, to the points at hand.
Orktoberfest is coming! On October 24th, the Games Workshop Bunker in Chicago is holding their annual festival, and Amy and I are going! The two of us, and Colin, who is giving us a ride, are going to cosplay, too: me as an Eldar Warlock, Amy as an Eldar Harlequin with a fusion pistol and close combat weapon, and Colin as an Ork Nob with a slugga, power claw, and bosspole. We're working hard on these costumes, but time to complete them is quickly fading away.
All throughout this month at the "G.W. Lounge," as I like to call it, people earn "teef" (the Orks use their teeth as currency) for playing games, buying merch., etc. which we can then use at Orktoberfest to buy food, drinks, models, swag, and whatnot. It's gonna be so much fun! I'm so stoked. Hopefully there'll be pictures uploaded later.
In other news...
Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize!? Bullshit! Now, don't get me wrong. I don't hate the guy, I have nothing against the fact that he's black, or anything like that. It's just that some people dedicate their entire lives to winning this award. Hell, Ghandi didn't even ever win it. And now Obama has one, por que? He hasn't DONE anything yet. Setting our international approval rating thingy "back to normal" instead of having every other country in the world hate our guts doesn't exactly count, I think. But, I don't make the rules.
Can't think of anything else right now, even though I know there is more... That'll come later, sorry.
